A case the public should see.
PRINT Canada reports on what institutions do to people: police, courts, government bodies, banks, the immigration and detention system. If you act for someone whose story belongs on the record, our editors would like to hear about it.
We are an independent magazine. No advertisers, no investors, no agenda other than the record. We cover single cases at length, from the documents, and we do it carefully. We are not looking for outrage. We are looking for what actually happened, sourced and verifiable.
What we cover
Police conduct and use of force. Charter breaches, disclosure failures, and Crown conduct. Wrongful denials by government programs. Immigration and detention. Negligence by institutions that were trusted to do better. Consumer and financial harm by banks, insurers, and dealers. If an institution failed a person, and there are documents, it is our territory.
How we work
From the documents. We report from records, recordings, filings, and disclosure, not from anyone's say-so. A strong case is one you can show, not just tell.
We protect people. We anonymize any client, complainant, or source who could be harmed by exposure. Cities and institutional facts stay; identifying details come out where they need to.
We never pay sources. Not lawyers, not clients, not anyone. Coverage is editorial, never bought.
Your client decides. We only proceed with a subject who consents to coverage. The decision is theirs and yours, never ours alone.
What we are not
We are not a referral service, a legal marketing channel, or a way to pressure an opposing party. We do not run advertorials. If a case is a fit, we report it on its own terms, with the same standards we apply to everything in the magazine. Read our editorial independence statement and corrections policy to see how we operate.
Tell us about it.
A few clear paragraphs is plenty. What happened, which institution, what the documents show, and what your client wants. A real editor reads every one.
